Create Tasks 📋

Updated

Tasks settle who takes care of what at an event, e.g. who's driving or who brings the drinks. You create them once in the settings with the gear ⚙️, in the Tasks tab, and then turn them on per event.

How to create a task

  1. Click the gear ⚙️ next to your community's name and open the Tasks tab (1).
  2. Click ➕ at the top right (2).
  3. Give the task a name and pick an icon.
  4. Click Save changes.

To change an existing task, click the pencil (3). The trash can next to it deletes the task.

How to turn on tasks for an event

New tasks aren't active for any event. You switch them on per event:

  1. In the Scheduler, click the event and then Edit.
  2. Open the Tasks tab (1).
  3. Check the tasks this event needs (2).
  4. Click Update event.

Active tasks show up in the Scheduler as blue fields below the event.

How does someone get a task?

Members check their task themselves when they respond to the event. As an admin, you can do it for them: in the Scheduler, click the person's field at the event, check the task (1) and click Save. More: Assigning tasks in Gumb 🧩

Can I add a note for the task?

Yes. The same window has an Add comment field at the bottom, e.g. "Setup from 2 pm, south entrance". The person sees the comment under My Appointments and in the app. There is one comment field per person and event, even if they have several tasks.

What else are tasks good for?

Anything that comes up at many events, even if it isn't a classic task. A task like "Meeting point field A" or "Max. 10 participants" shows everyone right away what applies.
