First aid volunteers at a training

In short

Gumb is an app for first aid services and rescue organizations. Group leaders plan first aid cover at events, drills and refresher training as events, volunteers respond by the response deadline, and posts such as the first aid tent or the foot patrol become tasks right on the event. Attendance at drills and training can be exported as an Excel file, filtered by period, event type and group. Gumb is not an emergency alerting app and not a tool for incident or patient records.

From chat chaos to fully staffed first aid cover

What costs group leaders time before every event, and how Gumb fixes it.

Without Gumb: For first aid cover at the city run you ask around in three chats to find out who is free.

With Gumb: The first aid cover is its own event. Volunteers respond by the deadline, and you see live whether enough people are coming.

Without Gumb: Who staffs the tent and who walks the foot patrol is only settled on site.

With Gumb: Posts such as first aid tent or foot patrol become tasks on the event. Volunteers sign up themselves.

Without Gumb: At the end of the year you piece together from lists who attended which training.

With Gumb: With an event type for training sessions you export attendance as an Excel file, filtered by period and group.

Without Gumb: The event schedule and site map get lost in the chat history.

With Gumb: The documents sit right on the event, up to 50 MB per file.

We use this system in our aid organisation and at work. We are very happy with it, as we had been looking for a working and reliable system for a long time. The app offers many options, including staff and equipment management, and above all makes our work easier. Simply recommendable. A clear 5-star rating

FAQ: the app for first aid groups

Does Gumb replace alerting or incident records?

No. Gumb is not an emergency alerting app and not a tool for incident or patient records. Gumb organizes everything that can be planned: first aid cover at events, drills, refresher training and meetings.

How do I staff first aid cover at an event?

You create the cover as its own event with a response deadline. Volunteers respond, and you see live how many are coming. Posts such as first aid tent or foot patrol become tasks on the event: volunteers sign up themselves, or admins assign them.

How do I document completed training?

Create an event type for training sessions. Under Statistics you then export the attendance report, with one row per person and event, as an Excel file filtered by period, event type and group.

How do I share schedules and site maps with volunteers?

Put the documents right on the event. Documents for everyone go under “General documents”, a group folder is only visible to that group. Files can be up to 50 MB each.

Can local units and the youth group plan separately?

Yes. Every group has its own group scheduler, and group events are only visible to its members. Events for the whole organization are visible to everyone. Members of several groups find all their events in one place.

Can I also reach the event organizer without a Gumb account?

Yes. Admins and group leaders send emails from the web app and can add up to 100 external addresses, such as the organizer. Recipients do not see who else received the email.

Can I respond for volunteers who call in?

Yes. Admins can respond to events on behalf of members, group leaders on behalf of the members of their group.

How do I handle last-minute cancellations before a duty?

With a response deadline you see in time whether enough volunteers have said yes. Cancellations show up live on the event. If you like, a comment can be required for an answer, so volunteers briefly explain a cancellation.
